Beam's Dream Powder
This trial was a randomized, double-blind, crossover-design trial that lasted six weeks. The participants had study check-ins at baseline, at the end of the placebo period, and at the end of week 2 and week 4 of using the intervention product. Throughout the entire trial, participants were asked to wear fitness trackers to gather data on their sleep at the same time points as the surveys.
Participants completed a baseline survey to gather information about their ability to fall asleep, stay asleep, and the overall amount of sleep they got on average during the past week. This included the number of hours slept and the ‘sleep quality score’ recorded by a sleep tracker, the perceived quality of sleep, stress levels, and restfulness achieved after sleep.
Participants then began taking an inert placebo intervention for two weeks. Following the two-week placebo period, participants completed the sleep quality survey again to evaluate if a dummy product was capable of improving participants' sleep quality due to the ‘placebo effect’.
Participants were subsequently randomized into either the Dream Powder or Dream Powder Extra Strength condition groups, with the product blinded to both the primary study investigator and the participants. Participants took their supplements as directed for the next four weeks.
The study consisted of 62 participants between the ages of 24 and 50 who self-reported issues with sleep. Participants were in good overall health with no unstable medical conditions and owned a wearable sleep tracker (i.e., Apple Watch, FitBit, Whoop, etc.). The study excluded people with insomnia or sleep apnea diagnoses or people with a history of drug or alcohol abuse.
The Dream Powder and Dream Powder Extra Strength significantly improve a range of self-reported scores for sleep quality and health effects related to sleep
All 17 evaluated parameters showed a statistically significant improvement from baseline to completion of the trial
Results: Statistically significant improvements were recorded in overall sleep quality and how often participants had trouble sleeping. Additional significant improvements were recorded in how often people felt physically well, calm, psychologically rested, physically rested and recovered, stressed during the day, and if they had enough energy to get through the day. Additionally, improvements were recorded in how often people felt emotionally on a scale of 1-10.
For each parameter, the mean scores for both Dream Powder and Dream Powder Extra Strength were compared at the final time point to evaluate any statistically significant difference in outcomes between products. There was a significant difference in scores between the two groups in 5 out of 17 questions.
The two products tested in this trial have unique components (such as melatonin in the Extra Strength test product). It is reasonable that the lack of differences between the groups is a function of the unique components of the formulation. Each product is effective for unique sleep outcomes and the Extra Strength may outperform the Dream Powder for individuals who have more severe sleep disturbances.
The majority of the sleep quality and perceived health outcomes measured in this trial improved across both intervention groups as the trial progressed. Feeling refreshed when waking up, psychological restfulness, and perceived immune system function were parameters that showed the largest percentage improvements.

This study provides evidence of the effectiveness of Beam's Dream Powders in significantly improving sleep health
The main aim of this trial was to examine and compare the effect of two sleep supplements on sleep quality, quantity and perceived sleep-related health effects. Participants used a placebo product for two weeks, followed by either the Beam Dream Powder or Beam Dream Powder Extra Strength for four weeks.

Dream Powder and Dream Powder Extra are effective at improving many self-reported sleep quality and sleep-related health outcomes such as restfulness, immune function, and energy levels.
The results from the placebo period of the study indicate that many positive impacts on sleep can be had by developing positive sleep hygiene routines. This study successfully achieved the primary objective as the test products successfully improved many aspects of sleep quality and healthy sleeping habits.
