Earlier this week, we explored the value cosmetic brands can gain by creating health claims through clinical trials. Now, we’ll highlight a brand we had the pleasure of working with on creating health claims for their product in order to demonstrate the kinds of marketing claims that became available to brands after a clinical trial.
The brand
We worked with Saie beauty on their Hydrabeam undereye concealer, as they wanted to test out the product’s brightening and firming effects on participants. The brand prioritizes clean beauty products and minimal environmental impact, as well as high performance.
We helped them run a four-week clinical trial, wherein almost forty participants got to try out the concealer and report back to us with their progress.
The results
After their clinical trial with us, Saie collected positive results such as improvements in appearance including increased brightness, blurring of imperfections, and reduction of dark circles upon application. Long-term benefits to undereye skin health were also reported by the majority of participants, including increased smoothness, elasticity, and hydration. Saie is now able to present their product with scientifically backed claims, including some of the following:
78% of study participants reported blurred imperfections
81% of study participants felt their undereye was smoother immediately after application
87% of study participants reported improved undereye brightness
85% of study participants felt their skin looked dewy and hydrated after application
These claims are now able to be used in the marketing of their Hydrabeam concealer, and customers can trust that they have come from Saie’s collaboration with real people who enjoyed using the product. These kinds of results help to build brand trust and add validity to their product claims. Nicely done, Saie!
