Participants self-scored the impact of their acne symptoms using the validated Acne QoL scale, providing standardized data on the overall effect on their quality of life. Further, they answered study-specific questions to evaluate the appearance and severity of their acne symptoms over time and provided self-taken photos of their skin, which were then graded by dermatologists to objectively assess improvements in skin condition.
